well if you only consider music that fallow the "basic traditional western theoretical parameters for music" music then no there is no room for originality but if you only view music that fallow the "basic traditional western theoretical parameters for music" music then why would you want progression and originality

to find truly original progressive good music you need to have an open mind to whats already out there and just listen and you will find something new but again if your not open to it why would even look for it
