All of what you are saying is true and yes abortion is a big problem for our time. Unfortunately, there is another, more imposing statistic to consider. According to a 2007 study by The Lancet, 48% of all abortions world wide are considered unsafe and done illegally. 68,000 women die each year as a result of these illegal procedures and two to seven million women suffer for the rest of their lives from complication from these unsafe abortions. Over 95% of unsafe abortions are done where the practice is illegal. The prospect of unsafe abortion would go up immensely if it were banned in the United States and that is a road I do not want my nation going down.
