What do we do in Heaven?

I asked my Christian colleague about Heaven and I was not satisfied with his answer.
He pulled out the Holy book and quoted a description of a place surrounded by walls with cubic dimensions, four rivers meeting at the center, brightness (If you forget your sunglasses you'll be hurting), no darkness so you can't ever see the stars again, it all sounded very restrictive. Any comments? (please supply references)
