America And Reason?

Why has America fallen so far behind Europe with regards to logical thinking. We are viewed by our European neighbors as a big lumbering idiots kinda like Wal-Mart big and powerful but full of crap. Why are so many Americans refusing to accept Science and Evolution as fact. In fact most Americans don't even understand what a theory is they still don't realize that the the Earth revolving around the sun is also a theory.. It's scary how many Americans just don't understand the Scientific process and don't want to learn but would rather believe in a book "the Bible" that is so obviously incorrect and immoral Judges being one of the sickest books ever written . Will Americans ever wake to the facts, Or will we choose to live in ignorant bliss?
