stages of enlightenment

Most of us are aware of the seven stages of death/dying.   Wouldn't it be great to create a "stages" for enlightenment in the 21st century?   Given all that humankind now knows about the history of the universe and evolution, it would be a wonderful tool to help people living in religious darkness and fear.  This would be another option than attempting to convey reason and rationality to religious persons whose only options are usually denial, empty arguments, or aggression toward the "infidel".  I firmly believe that most people are inherently and instinctively moral, and until this mental deficiency, or neurological disorder is corrected in society, we may be doomed.
