Re: Writer
I remember when GM workers went on strike late last year. Some of the workers were saying that they might be able to stay out (on strike) for maybe two weeks before they really started to feel the pinch. The writers have been out for far longer than that. My point is, quite obviously I think, that the writers have chosen their profession for the money and nothing else. I have no sympathy for them. Most of the people that I have talked to about the strike view it the same way I do, as a joke. It is typical, whining artists/sportsmen/etc.. wanting more money so they can get back to poisoning our television sets with mind-numbing ooze.

Re: Writer
In any avenue in which someone (corporation) is compensated for an end product in any form, those who are responsible in contribution for said product should partake is a similar percentage of profit for such goods rendered according to the original contract signed with regards to creative contributions. Th avenue of revenue is irrelevant as the contribution of creative content is contained within the original end product.

Re: Writer's Bloc: The WGA on Strike
Well for sure I'd say that this is merely a bi-product of the USA's social/economic structure. Meetings, guilds and unions are really all a waste and ultimately server the top of the pyramid. They offer a false sense of equality/entitlement/insert your words here. You'd have to re-work the pyramid or heirarchy of cash for anything to truly change or "improve" for the prole, etc. They'd have to become something other than what they are. The only way to not be on the receiving end is to become a 1%'er and they certainly aren't going to help you do it. Asking a rapist to help you out is pretty rediculous. But so they can keep at their fun, they'll entertain a little conversation for your sake.
