Re: Is the media to blame for Britney's troubles?

I think it's irresponsible for the media to refuse to acknowledge any ownership in Britney's decline.  Whether she's mentally ill, starved for attention, or a victim of crass consumer hunger doesn't immunize the media from the valid criticism that they are gleefully egging on this girl towards her spiral downward. Anyone would crack under that pressure.

I also resent the fact that we are unwilling cohorts in the media's onslaught. Those of use who are sympathetic to her, but feel that it's best not to feed the beast, buy the magazines, watch the entertainment shows are still witnesses to and part of the very dialogue that continues to make her relevant.
