Military groups and governments are going to further add to environmental degradation by forcing eco-refugees (a most appropriate term) into areas already experiencing deforestation and desertification. We need to start speaking up and giving a voice to those that don't have one. We need to educate people on the importance of looking at Africa and Asia not as far away places but as a part of our global community and that what is happening to them now is a precursor of what will be happening to us in the near future if we don't stand up and put an end to it.
