Matt Bai's discussion of how dynasties in politics are a reflection of our cultural lust for celebrity is absolutely right on. Our need for escapism in this form is as much a reflection of what's going on in our economy as it is a driver of it. At the point that people start to feel that so much of their lives is about work, escapism becomes especially important. The resultant bi-polar state of work and then play leaves little time for broader thinking and innovation. When we lose our ability to think boldly, our economy starts to crumble.

ok the topic here is bush v clinton. now clinton is not perfect no one is saying he is.

but to claim clinton is corrupt and therefor worse is a little out there for no corruption can stump what the bush admin has been up to

Clinton turned a deficit into a surplus, which Bush II has turned into another deficit. What the heck are you talking about? We're poorer and more hated worldwide thanks to Bush. We've lost the respect of the international community, the middle class of this country is starting to look more like "poor". The last thing we need is another dope who is servile to corporations and the interests of their goon friends.

I cant believe this country has already forgotten Bill & Hillary Clintons criminal exploits during their "reign" in Arkansas!
They have successfully squashed a number of investigations that would have linked them directly to organized crime out of Mena. Clintons directly funded and traded with the Nicaraguan Contras which was a multi-billion gun/drug(cocaine)running buisness. All investigations that would have prooved this we destroyed as investigators were crushed by their superiors and the superior of those. Everyone who reads this should do some research on Dr. Fahmy Malak. He as "chief medical examiner" ruled suicide on people who had been shot in the chest up to 5 times. In his most increadible ruling he said some guy died of a stomach ulcer... this was disproven when his DECAPITADED HEAD was retrieved!!! As a close friend to the Clintons and a perfect tool, Bill had him moved to another state when the controversy surounding his rulings became to great.
Amidst this, ask yourself one thing... Why does almost no-one even remember this, and why do you see nobody standing up to the Clintons and their treacherous scandals?
