Kay, before this evangelizing occurs you should follow a guideline for pre-evangelizing. One that involves a question of "Do you want to be converted to Christianity by me?", if I say no that means no more talk of Christianity as being the "truth", because your truth is not our truth therefore it isn't the truth. You see, people's minds are starting to open and they are starting to question the bible and the church. That's why there are a lot of atheists, of course the atheists just go from one extreme to the other, but there are several people out there who are spiritual but not religious.

There is some truth in scientology as well as Christianity, look religion is religion is religion. Incorporated spirituality is all religion is. So you trying to pitch me on becoming Christian is like you trying to have me buy some shares in the same stock as you so our company can succeed and we can make some money.

Human's aren't in to spirituality so others can make a quick buck, so it's about time we break apart the monopolies of Christianity, Judaeism, and Islam. Spirituality is for yourself, no one else, so stop preaching to everyone about your "truth" it's just annoying and gives Christianity a worse reputation as people are spiritually evolving past the need for religions.

Hi there Kay,

It is great to hear that you have dodged the Big C. In religious parlance, that would have been a heavy cross to bare.

I am interested in you motivation for evangelism, and particularly interested in your desire to maintain contact with people people who dont respond.

Are you a robot to the will of God or does the impetus come independently from within you?

Thats clever how she paralled the "cure" for cancer with the hypothesis of the judeo-christian god. I found it hard to believe that the wife of Rick Warren would be caught dead hanging out and having an atheist friend. I'd like to see how many atheists she has in her circle of friends now?

see how often kay picks up your mail when you offer to tell her why there is no proof jesus ever walked the earth, after she introduces you to her friend.or after you explain how praying to a shiny new dime you do as much for her breast cancer as her magic spells.

Kay,
Just because you believe something, it does not make it true. If you want to move me with your experience, then you'll need a little evidence to back up what you assert.
You accept the Jesus version? why? probably cultural I'd guess? If you had been born in a gutter in Delhi or Beijing, I doubt you'd be banging on about JC to anyone.
Also have a read of Gloraykid's little effort. You can't even get agreement amongst those on your side of faith street as to what it is you're selling! Poor deluded Gloraykid.. should I tell him (it'll be a guy) that JC was only voted a God at Nicea in 324CE? Does he know of the struggle between the Aposotolic line under Irenaeus and the Gnostics under Valentinian in the first century CE when Christianity could well have become a very 'eastern' religion, with no Pope or priests? Cathar heresy anyone?
Please read some legitimate history and see if it helps with rational debate. if you do you'll probably decend even further into vacuous metaphors like 'God is love'.. anyone who really believes in transubstantiation (ask Gloraykid) is a very sick puppie indeed, so steer clear of the rabid conservative Catholics... Vatican 2 must be a disappointment GK?
Stick to Evangelising to 3 year olds Kay, get 'em young and feed 'em drivel... been working for yonks.

If I sincerely believe, or "feel", something to be true, does that make it right for me to try to spread my belief? Or to teach it as "The Truth" to my children? What if I believe in the Greek gods? Or Santa Claus? Or that Black people are inherently inferior?

Kay- you're right on. In fact, it is not charitable/merciful/loving to WITHHOLD the truth from others... Yes, they may be sincere, but if YOU REALLY believe what you say you do (that you have found "THE TRUTH" aka "JESUS CHRIST - THE WAY THE TRUTH THE LIFE"), then you MUST out of charity, tell them they may be sincere, but they are sincerely WRONG/i.e. God DOES exist, and JESUS DOES call them to a personal relationship with him and his bride, the Church. It is not charitable EVER to confirm someone in their confusion or sin... Which is why YOU should look at the Catholic Church- the true Church founded by Jesus Christ. You ACCEPT the authority of the Church everytime you OPEN your Bible, because it was CATHOLIC BISHOPS in 300-400 AD who gathered up the apostolic writings and early church father documents and SET THE CANON and CLOSED THE CANON... Read the writings of the Early Church Fathers (some who learned at the knee of the apostles) and find out that Christ's Church,the Catholic Church, from the beginning believed in the REAL PRESENCE OF CHRIST IN THE EUCHARIST! IT IS HIS BODY BLOOD SOUL AND DIVINITY! There was only ONE Church, the bride of Christ, for 1500 years before the first protestant heretics began substituting their own infallibility for that gift given only to Peter's Chair. The Holy Spirit did not suddenly leave the Church at that time. Christ promised that the 'gates of hell shall not prevail' against his Church. Do you take Christ at his word? Christ has only 1 bride, not 30,000 protestant denominations (as exist in the U.S. today)... Don't be afraid to look at the historical Church- which is the Church Christ founded... it has the FULLNESS of the TRUTH! SEVEN SACRAMENTS OF GRACE! God bless-

I absolutely love the grace that folks get with having comfort from a higher being. Just a question: what if you've chosen this path, this dis-ease for a purpose?
