I know that medicine is saving lives, but I am becoming concerned... Medicine in the US has evolved into healthy people taking drugs every day of their lives, then they decide a drug is bad and you learn you were just a guinea pig... like with the women's hormones, or more recently Vytorin, a cholesterol drug taken by millions.

Drugs are being used for sheer convenience... Pregnant women routinely have their labors induced by drugs. These are healthy pregnancies without complications. Ricki Lake says that infant deaths in the US are up because of medical interventions and she has made a film on the topic...

As for dentistry, they try to sell you stuff to make your teeth look nice, but less healthy because they must nearly destroy your natural teeth to install it...

I am becoming wary and questioning how our medical/dental dollars are being used. Medicine is performing modern day miracles, to be sure, but we need to be discriminating in the type of "care" we buy into. I am very much interested in integrating alternative medicine and wellness programs into the mix.
