Not being able to find your comments is frustrating, especially if your comment is a question for clarification. Earlier today, I was trying to find a thread on potential wars over water - I haven't found the thread I was looking for. I did find another thread that was similar, but not the one I was looking for.

As far as similar questions being posted - I'm not sure how much is due to people not searching for the topic or the difficulty in searching for threads.

I think this is a great site and great idea, there's still the word "beta", so I do expect some things not to work as well as they might, but the difficulty in searching for topics could cause some people to abandon Big Think.

I'm having trouble just like the others. We need to be able to see all of the input that we alone have generated. Am I missing something that would allow me to access this?

I'm also having problems. If I see an idea that I think is noteworthy, I'll post a comment but then I can't find the threads again either by searching a key word or my own name.

I also find it bewildering that there are so many new threads often asking the same one-liner questions that several other experts have asked before. There are so many of these that it's a foregone conclusion few bother to answer.

Another thing...when I go to my favorite section of ideas and hit sort by 'date' and page through until I find a thread I recognize and click on it, then when I back off, I revert the whole search thing to the default 'popular' method of searching, which takes me back to November 07 (or so). Surely most people who are repeat visitors want to see the latest threads, what's 'current' in other words. So shouldn't the date method of searching be the default?

I'd like to agree with the previous writer. There is a lot of potential here but it's difficult to follow anything. Those willing to put the time in may be rewarded but I suspect many might miss out because most like things easy. Perhaps that is your plan. Hope not.

While sharing any chance that media presentations can be transcribed. The sound card on my computer is broken and it will no doubt be a while before I can hear voice in any audio form.

a response is responding to someones idea with your own idea ,yet strangly all a posters ideas arnt kept together on thier own ideas/comments list

i have put up 3 ideas no one seems to want to comment on , yet have put other ideas as comments on others ideas that seemingly just join the evergrowing list of others comments on others ideas,
but arnt linked to the root idea except for the title name even other responses to the same idea seem unlinked

the ideas seem to be an endlessly flowing list of disjointed ideas loosly linked by word search but not linked to the one who comments idea list

it seems comments arnt even linked to the comentator ,nor the idea

our human brains work because they interlink it seems nothing here joins seamlessly to other things ,not even the posters page

clicking on a good commentators name only gets you to thier origonal ideas ,not their other non idea posts,
the only link seemingly will be the some other idea/title name till it gets pushed onto other pages by further comments

anyway the key words and people agree/disagree take up space better used to join linked posts together

well thats my part response, part comment ,part idea ,not that any will find my other comments , because they link up to who know what

we dont even know if a comment gets an email saying you got a response ,mainly because no one can find it by guessing the right key words ,or searching 30 plus pages of subheadings

any way a good idea, in time can only get better ,lets be patient and see what big ideas becomes ,once we see even comments are ideas
[however wrong they might seem when seen seperatly]
it is the logical total sum of the parts that reveals the truelly big ideas
