Sorry to be the killjoy again.

I think the notion of god has provided an endless source of material for a great deal of joy through comedy, and the healthy happiness of laughter.

It's all so much funnier when the target of the joke doesn't exist.

Well that goes without saying... I'm not talking about what people think of God, though... but whether or not believers think that humour comes from God, and can be righteous in itself...

Many of the events that have actually taken place in the name of "god" are not funny in the least.

I think Kevin realized that he could capitalize on his talents with the all-time controversial subject, and did quite well.

"Clerks" was the best. Some of the others, hollywood garbage.

Interesting, no one seems to have a problem with a God that has a sense of humour.

Is a frogs ass water tight?
I'm one of those that think God, or that powerful THING at the core of our existence, is in everyone. So, for example, musycks seems to have a good sense of humor. He occasionally makes me laugh and likes Monte Python. Ya, I guess God does have a sense of humor.

he s kind of like one of those really serious friends that you know, who hardly smile let alone are humoruous, but then out of nowhere they say something that makes you laugh your chest hair off-

Here is a short story-

setting- me and two friends in Iraq in a little room hanging out waiting to go to bed-

theres me, the eccentric one, and the mundanely dull one

the eccentric one has tool playing, you that album with the last soundtrack that repeats over and over again

"life feeds on life feeds on life" followed by " this is nessecary, this is nessecary"

well the mundanely boring one speaks, and when he spoke people listen cause he hardly ever spoke, and the funniest stuff i ever heard from him came in the same tone as the song in the background he asks us

"IS this nessecary??" and tells us to turn that stupid song off in not so many words

i could not stop laughing for about 15 minutes and i still remeber that day fondly

during a sandstorm that same guy who is also a chainsmoker-

i run in the room telling them to not go out there that a sandstorm is coming up- the eccentric one agrees- the other guy thinks he needs a cigarette and wants to go outside- we both tell him not to and to just wait for awhile- he refuses and goes outside- about 20 seconds later he comes back and is COVERED in dust- he looks 3 shades darker and you cant even read the ARMY logo on his shirt- we give him the told you so speech and he tells is he didnt mind the sandstorm it was just that it was so bad that he coulndt light his cigarette because the wind and sand snuffed it out---

ss incidentally my friends' father is a protestant pastor and considers "One Of Us" one of the most blasphemous song ever written... and his children grew up on metallica and gwar and anal cunt (who wrote a song about raping nuns)

I thought that was funny... Chalk one up for... Joan Osborne?!

judging by how he's left no evidence of his presence, thereby leaving us to amuse ourselves in endless circular arguments, I'd say he's laughing it up big time!

or in the case of the TV evangelists... laughing all the way to the bank!

'It's a sign... he want's us all to take off our shoes and do likewise'!

of course 'The Life of Brian' is the funniest film ever made, so at least I'll get no argument on that statement of incontrovertable truth!!
