Here in Canada, my company helps owners struggling to join this flattening or at least spikey world.
Many of these family owned businesses have been given the partners and capital to make the leap outside of Canadian borders while keeping their head office and adding jobs here in Canada. Without a doubt, and many of these owners would agree, their company would be gone without this interesting type of financing.
Private equity is part of the process of a company but not the end. Owners have the option to buy back but most discover how much more exciting it is to own less but create more.
