Why won't he actually answer a question? He skirts all things rather than just answering. This is why people hate politicians. Watch someone else on the site answer a question there Mitt. It is really easy, look at the camera and give your honest opinion. Do you really think that the LDS faith has nothing worthy to say to people, that you can mention? if that is true... Why do you subscribe to it? If it does have something worth sharing, why were you too afraid to share it?

Thus saith Romney! (paraphrased): Judaism teaches that Jesus is the savior of the world.

It was a weird sentence. There was no reason to drag Judaism into it. I guess it's just force of habit nowadays to say Judeo-Christian.

One could make a case that Islam also "flows from the Judeo-Christian ethic" (whatever THAT is), but doesn't quite credit "Isa" with saving the world.

Kudos to mitt! I feel that he answered the question great. The BEST way to find out info is to go to lds.org or mormon.org. Read some talks, maybe even go to a church service. That is the best way to get a taste of what a Latter-day Saint believes.

justAJoe put it well...Romney has turned into a liability for Mormons. Sage was also right to say that he completely evaded the topic. Sage, however, is rather bigoted. Just insert "Jew" or "Hindu" or "Muslim" into her closing quip. Ouch. People, if you want to learn about Mormonism, why are you at this site? Romney is no more qualified to comment on the church than any other member. Go to www.lds.com and read our scriptures, talks given by our leaders, official church policies, etc. If you want more academic discussions, visit sunstoneonline.com or FARMS.byu.edu. Read the biography of Joseph Smith by Richard Bushman (Columbia University. Title: Rough Stone Rolling). Please?

Mitt is a credit to his faith: an example of a man who has found success in business, public and personal life. How easy it is to sit and criticize from behind the anonymiy of the internet... What he said about mormonism is true; what more do you expect from a presidential candidate? Especially in an age of video and sound bites, 200 word, context-less, "authoritative" blog posts and endless spin. If you want to know about the faith (or any other for that matter) go to their website (www.lds.org) or find good, deep, knowledgeable blogs (www.timesandseasons.com or www.mormonstories.org). Give the man some benefit here, what would you say if you had to defend your faith in a forum where every last word you said would be dissected and spun and criticized from every angle? Probably as little as you could...

Pundits say being a Mormon is a liability for Romney. Romney being a Mormon is a liability for the Mormons, if you ask me. The Mormons I have met tend to be honest, decent, sincere people. He is a poor example of a Mormon.

I knew more about Mormonism before I watched this interview than afterwards. Seriously, he completely evaded the topic--just like a politician...and a Mormon ;)
