There is no cure for death. Grasping at the latest "miracle" cure, "As Seen On TV", does nothing but increase profits for pharma. Without advertising to the public, pharma would actually have to rely on evidence-based medicine to show their cure improved patient outcomes, not just the corporate bottom line.
