Marc, you propose an interesting system of justice- one where evil deeds are punished by equally evil consequences. But it seems to me, that if we are to advance as a society we should make efforts not to punish an evil doer, but assess the root cause of the evil deed. Especially in the case where evil deeds stem as a result of previous abuse (can one say that a person who grew up in an abusive environment is rational?)... So, when a criminal shoots his victim, he is unavoidably saying, "I think it is permissible to shoot people." Consequently I can see no better response to his transgressions then to shoot him. It may seem outlandish, but it is my contention that ideally the state should treat criminals in precisely the way they treated their victims. Now because this presents countless pragmatic problems, I am willing to settle for the lethal injection. I really liked it! I have never considered your argument at all! All i have ever heard in the past is simply to keep the death penalty or abolish it. I really like your stand, and i agree with you. I also think you come across as a very perfessional and well informed debater (then again... you were those things... but they transfer to video well!) Congrats, i suggest you keep doing these!
