Genetic dispositions can be disharmony inherited. Radiation treatment for cancer is like diharmony times disharmony. Like two negatives equals a positive.

As far as God goes you are saying it does not exist because it is absurd, I am saying I believe in my idea:
"Imagine God Evolving"
Please read it first before you say I've missed the point. Unless you mean I've missed your point.
Love and Peace.
Bigthink Wed, 06 Feb 2008 15:47:27 +0100 http://www.bigthink.com/wisdom/4505/#7944 Comment on: A letter I wrote to friends over vacation:A rant about sex, drugs, religon, etc http://www.bigthink.com/wisdom/4505 You seemed to miss my point about God.

I don't believe there is such a thing. I didn't stop believing because some people who were close to me died which I confess this does sound like I'm saying. I stopped believing because the sheer absurdity of a deity finally dawned on me through these tragedies.

As for cancer being disharmony, that's a nice sentiment but when you get down to it, it's a disease caused by carcinogens, genetics, and other mitigating factors. BUT you have the right to believe whatever the hell you want and I respect that. Make one point at time. In succession. Less likely to waste people's time.
I mean no disrespect in the following statement: I believe that cancer is disharmony within an individual, and it has nothing to do with God. Lack of maybe.
Hunter S. Thomas wrote about what he knew. And he knew it because he experienced.
God is a lump of coal.
Peace.
Imagine God Evolving. Sir or mam what is that supposed to mean? I have spent more than enough time (more then once is realy to much) around people I could only throw into that gapping void of a sterotype; burn outs. Please, this is a forum for intelletual's, and while I belive there is no such thing as "human debris" you have just given cause for such a phrase. If you want to get high thats fine with me. If you can get high and still sound intelligible then thats great. But honestly it seems like you were incapacitated when you wrote that. Get some sleep and try agian. Bigthink Thu, 17 Jan 2008 22:10:17 +0100 http://www.bigthink.com/wisdom/4505/#2321 Comment on: A letter I wrote to friends over vacation:A rant about sex, drugs, religon, etc http://www.bigthink.com/wisdom/4505 Part of the curiosity here was to see what exactly people would gravitate to. Of all the people that have seen this in other places every one of them have gravitated to something different within the rant, which i confessed at the beginning it was.

It's interesting to see that you have gravitated more towards the substance point of view that I brought up. I don't know you personally so I can't use that as reference point but it is interesting.

However there is one thing that you brought up that I don't agree with. An atheist is something entirely different from a hedonist. A hedonist is someone who is all about the visceral experience, while as someone who believes that when I die, that's it, I find it more logical to stay away from things like that so I don't fly through my life in an haze and not really get to experience everything that I deem important.

Thanks for the feedback. Bigthink Thu, 17 Jan 2008 15:50:58 +0100 http://www.bigthink.com/wisdom/4505/#2023 Comment on: A letter I wrote to friends over vacation:A rant about sex, drugs, religon, etc http://www.bigthink.com/wisdom/4505 My friend I have to ask what it is your asking. I understand you want to know what I think (you said this) and I can assume you mean the entire letter. But honetly do you expect people to read that whole letter (though I did) and respond to the whole thing? So many topics thrown at me so fast, this is definitely a rant. Not that a rant isnt a good thing now and again, its just that a rant is a clear sign that you have lots on your mind and dont vent it enough. I think in this forum to have effective conversations and a large amount of feedback you need to seperate your issues more. A pipe under pressure with only one hole will blast everything from that one whole, thats sort of like passion. But if you put many holes in the pipe you can reduce the flow to a much more managable trickle.

Now just because it would be unfair for me as your first reponse not to actualy give my opinon on any of the topics you brought up Ill say a little (relatively).

I drink alchohol problably 8 times a month (including a beer with dinner or whatever). Sometimes I get drunk, loud, rough around the edges, and less then graceful. But I am self aware, when I give an overly enthusiastic high five or flirt heavily with a girl, its not as if I dont know what Im a part of. I know that its about becoming less intelligent and less resposible for a while. But do you? There is something wonderful about truley seeing both sides. When I act drunker then I am Im not doing it fool anybody( Ill tell them exactly how drunk I am with a staight look that has made people jump), Im just mocking the others who do it unintentionally. Im making a joke at their expense yet I fraternize and enjoy myself A LOT! You say you have dropped some of your criticism for people who drink but to tell you the truth I dont see you as much different from someone who gets wasted and acts ridiculously and doesn't realize their role in the world or what causes them on a deeper level to act the way they do, to partake in the acitvites they do. While people might act truly primal while drunk (like getting naked in a game of cards) I think you must understand that that is not a bad thing. Its fun! Realy it is! Or else people wouldnt do it, at least not nearly to the extent that they do. Besides as an atheist (or so you claim) shouldnt you be all for the visceral experience? No life after death? Well then I think there would be no other choice then to max out the time, energy, and health that you have. Certianly cant use those things while your dead. Anyway it was fun to go on my own little rant. Bigthink Thu, 17 Jan 2008 05:53:53 +0100 http://www.bigthink.com/wisdom/4505/#1785
