More sophisticate technology, increasingly sick patients will not end until we EMPHASIZE prevention! We must get off our butts and shop in the produce section and stay clear of junk/gimmick foods! Then, everyone would be able to afford healthcare.

You are only telling part of the story.

ALL of the healthcare delivery team is aging. I am a respiratory therapist and we are seeing the same thing - more sophisticated technology, increasingly sick patients, flat pay, poor benefits, mandatory overtime. I left bedside care to pursue a technical degree and now make about 3 times what I did in the hospital. I am embarrassed by admitting that, so much so that I am keeping my license current so that I will be able to go back to the bedside at some point when I can afford it. Yes, it is difficult.
