Isn't the 'drive to discover' and the concept that human life has meaning only what we have been taught to expect? If there is no spiritual (for want of a better word) meaning to human life, it does not end and any diminution of quality that results is all in the mind. I think it is our own human need for life to be meaningful that creates the illusion that it must be. Once that meaningfulness concept is gone, life goes on just the same. Not trying to be contrary.
