The media [ in general ] failed to identify this opportunity and were satisfied with feebly fiddling with the traditional methods of supplying information.<br /><br />Needing space to grow, Google has naturally encroached into territory that was once monopolized by media giants. This well may be viewed as 'parasitic' by some, but the undisputed-winners in this situation are the Internet users.
