It takes inputs, processes them, and spits out an output. If we understood the process well enough, it would be possible for us to predict every action a person would take (think of a reflex as a simple example). That would make life seem deterministic. But the brain is complex enough, and the number of inputs are so great, that in most cases we cannot predict the reaction of the human brain.
