Celebrity gossip magazines print what they think that the public wants to read about. And judging by how many different magazines there are and how much they sell, it's hard to say that the public doesn't want to read what they print. I'm personally tired of it and tend to ignore it as a whole. Because I honestly don't care.
It's funny that people criticize these people's bad behavior, I think. The same people that are trashing Britney and all the others are most likely the people that were supporting their crappy music in the first place.I'm willing to bet that a good hunk of the money Lindsay Lohan made from Herbie the Love Bug went towards her coke habit. How do you condemn somebody for their bad behavior and then enable it? Another example, people trash Paris Hilton all the time. But she's making a lot of money from her cologne, and I heard that she did well on selling her book. Where's that money go to most likely? To better fund the lifestyle that the public shakes their head in disgust at.
Also it's odd that for the most part society isn't bothered by divorce. But if a Hollywood couple gets divorced, "Oh, that's so sad!" If a normal couple gets divorced, no big deal. When Eddie Murphy gets divorced, than it is a big deal.
And why is it that it's a shame that Britney Spears' little sister is pregnant at 16, while it happens all the time with non-celebrity girls and nobody gives a damn?

I wanted to reply to you comment and ended up pressing the wrong button! Sorry! In no way did I want to report it for abuse. As a matter of fact, I found your article to be very interesting and I loved your writing style. I fully agree with you. I have this theory, as part of the cosmic evolution we're undergoing, I find women -in particular- are having a hard time channeling the shekinah/kundalini energy that has awoken in our planet. It is so intense, beautiful, and passionate. But, this special, powerful, and important transformation humanity is experiencing must be approach spiritually. Otherwise, the Brittney%u2019s, Paris', and Lindsey%u2019s of the world will be trapped in an old paradigm of fear, pain, and suffering created by the illusion of the materialism that no longer flies in this new paradigm. As part of our ascension, I believe we are creating relationships between gods and goddess, coming from our god within. I feel very strongly about the eminent balance of the sexes and the power of creation found in union. I also believe in the Mayan prophecy regarding the end of dualism and the coming of oneness in love.
