He stopped speaking to both of us shortly after that..lol.

I think the "playing" on the internet thing is a good guess, however, I'd venture that women tend to congregate in more social internet settings, which I, being a woman, am always drawn to, but ultimately turned off by due to the boring conversations going on. You may be familiar with the chatroom/message board phenomena of "regs" which I deplore. The great thing about the internet is meeting new and fascinating people you never have to talk to again..lol.

I find anywhere online and in life that I am more drawn to male environments (with the exception of sports), for companionship. It's very difficult to discuss things ideologically dear to me such as sexuality, population control, and atheism without making some social faux pas with women, where with drinking men nothing is taboo.

My intellectual feminine beacon is the historical/mythical Hypatia. The gist of it was that women (in America at least from this story) do think less critically than men, but it is not a product of their gender, but rather of a defunct and outdated American culture. There were two main points:

1. Too many women are taught from an early age (even by their mothers) that they are inferior thinkers. Women are bad at math, right? It's this kind of myth that perpetuates itself.

2. Somehow too many women have been taught that men prefer a girl who is intellectually inferior to themselves, so women think that they have to be dumb in order to attract men. There may be some truth here, that some men prefer to be dominant in the relationship, but personally I hold intelligence as one of the most important traits in a girl I'm looking for.

The tide seems to be turning. There are plenty of examples throughout history that show women perfectly capable of anything when they understand that they have the ability to do it. Let's not forget how relatively recent women's liberation was. Let's help young women understand their potential and end this myth culture. On the understanding that there would be absolutely no need to adjust my sexual-preferences, I proudly accepted. I wear the badge that came with the award, inside my shirt pocket [ not everyone might appreciate what the award means, and I prefer to control moments of confrontation, rather than have them thrust upon me ].

Anyway, with the advantage of this cross-gender perspective, I can say, without fear of contradiction, Men and Women devote approximately equal times to thinking. The curly-question is, "Who thinks about all the HARD-STUFF?".

Not wishing to jeopardise my award, I must avoid any temptation to answer that [ BIG GRIN ]. I am a woman and I read this site daily but it was only last night after the primary elections in Florida that I was fired up enough to post an article. Your comments are making me think, "Ladies, let them know how you think, it might scare them, it might make them angry, it might help them to understand us".
At the very least, the conversation will get very interesting... just ask my husband of 27 years. giggling here!
