For the issues listed (same-sex marriage and abortion), the President, like any other citizen can state his or her opinion, but it should be only that. Unfortunately, the issues listed are generally used as wedge issues and methods of getting more people to vote.

These issues should be determined in the courts and legislatures - this is one of the reasons why we should demand nonpartisan courts.

Define moral issues. It's important to remember the executive branch is supposed to execute the will of congress.
