If all you do is make a huge salary as a petroleum engineer, what motivation do you have to give back to the community? If you see firsthand the damage done to beaches because of neglect, its going to get you thinking "how can I use MY skills to prevent this."<br /><br />Its also refreshing to get out of your comfort zone and think in a different way and use skills you may not have known you have.
