One nation that is damming rivers is China, which is experiencing prolonged droughts, which are also happening in multiple areas of the world.

Some of the rivers that China is damming flow into India, Bangladesh, and IndoChina. How could this potential for further war be prevented?
Bigthink Sun, 06 Apr 2008 12:06:15 +0100 http://www.bigthink.com/policy-politics/energy-policy/9464/#13610 Comment on: Will the world see water wars? http://www.bigthink.com/policy-politics/energy-policy/9464 the water war is going on yet between the few big companies who monopolise the sources and the supply.
In regulating the acces to water, the war could be aovided.
NOWELL Bigthink Sat, 05 Apr 2008 11:22:09 +0100 http://www.bigthink.com/policy-politics/energy-policy/9464/#13537 Comment on: Will the world see water wars? http://www.bigthink.com/policy-politics/energy-policy/9464 Is it time to start collecting rain-water and digging personal wells? I've always been concerned about possible widespread water contamination, either by accident or by terrorism. Right on, Don. And I think we will be seeing more in the near future. I can't remember where, but I believe there are certain cities in India where its already become a massive problem, with fresh water going to the richer neighborhoods and the poorer ones having to rely on bottled water only available for purchase. One could argue that Israel has not given up the Golan Heights because of the precious water-table beneath it. Even Minnesota and Canada have gone head to head over fresh water. Water will be an issue and may even lead to bigger wars in the future.
