as a somewhat fundamentlist baptist(withslightregardstogiftsofthespirit) i can only say i have expirenced this once in a dream, that is talking with the dead, i dream as any other person does but seemingly randomly and only about 5 times in my life has a dream been so vivid, meaningful, and fulfilling that i am somewhat convinced of the gift of prophecy, not as in biblical times where prophecy was the spirit directly guiding people to write and speak, but as in the spirit working through me personally in such a way as i can only undertstand as guiding me, they are hard to describe and to be brief is to miss out on important details however i shall attemp to post one signiicant one

When we talk with the dead, why don't they tell us more about their location?

Ancient saying: "As Above, So Below, As Within, So Without" :-)

They can be here but on a different frequency like radio waves ;-)

Thanks Whitman Moore. Good question. Several possible explanations come to mind. Maybe by tomorrow morning I'll think of something coherent to say about this.

Hi fonze008. There is certainly a lot of truth in what you say, but I'm not actually referring to ghosts. Sorry to be so vague.

In part I'm referring to what's called "spirit mediumship". I do this whenever asked as part of my pastoral counseling practice.

I'm also referring to an old lady, who was a friend of my family, who used to walk down to the graveyard every day that the weather was good and read the newspaper to her dead husband.

And I'm also referring to my step-daughter's experience of being visited in her bed by her loving and beloved aunt just moments after her aunt died in a town miles away.

And so on and so on.

But you would probably find certain aspects of the spirit mediumship phenomenon hardest to debunk. I know I do.

Recent studies have discovered that increase exposure to electromagnetic fields can cause hallucinations, voices, floating orbs. If you test most areas where people have said that have talked to a ghost there is most likely a high electromagnetic field there. Sry

This is definitely a curious subject.

My first belief is that communication with the "dead" is due to the individual accessing processes of their brain/mind, which are not common to all or all the time; depending on their stage of evolutionary development.
It seems so many of these communications, as related, deal in the 'familiar' and not much to do with another state-of-existence or dimension. Why do, the spirits of those passed on, seem to speak more about what is going on here vs. where they "are"?
Maybe it's because we cannot comprehend in our current state, but I wonder if this is actually the case.

It can be stimulating stuff to think about and experience, no matter what the true experience actually is.
