Corporate rock and roll tends to dominate the market and is inherently conservative.

There is a lot of interest new music about. Particularly interesting is the fusion of traditional form. You can get a band like Cat Empire playing a combination of rap, reggae, jazz and Cuban, performed in Greek-Australia accents.

You have to get off the corporate beaten track to find this sort of music.
