i was thinking earlier today about all the financial mess this country was in, pondering my invesment strategies and considering where i could end up employment wise...it was hell...but to know that i can come home to my (future)wife, maybe some kids and do our daily bible study and learning, discuss with family and friends the days events and realize that theyre is an escape from this life of dollars signs and perverted minds....

i dont see the majority out there realizing this.... from the head honchoes up on capital hill and our corporate master who could learn and thing or two from william blake
" a dog starved at his masters gate, predicts the ruin of his state"

even if the few sound minded individuals realize this and attempt to make change i fear we are drown out by people who think a different presidents will make all the changes for us(talk about overemphasizing presedential power!) most people cannot truly understand how the change must happen within their own hearts before the world starts changing, i think this is what is meant when it is said satan has control over this world

peace on earth rests on peace in jeruslam, and peace in jeruslam ... well the bible talks about it...

i have great hopes for individuals and for groups, maybe even coutnries, but as our world becomes globalized for purely economical means i think that shows us all how great matiral wealth is to people in this world...

I think more people have realized that this is happening... why else would "change" be such an important motto in the current election?

If we rebound from this, would we then break the mold?

I dont see why americans are so averse to taxes. First the rich have plenty of money to tax from, i in all seriousness think that the income tax on the top 1 % (which holds 20% of the national wealth, corect me if im wrong) by 400% or 500%. And even is some of the tax burden later falls on the middl class a strong social saftey net is i would say is worth it. Europeans pay much higher taxes then americans, and as far as scientists can asses happiness and well being they are much happier. There is less psychological "dissorders" less crime, less STDs. The list goes on and on. Im not saying taxing more is the magical cure, but redistributing the wealth is a good start into improving social welfare.

the biggest issue is politicians getting the government so involved in our lives with promises of social sec. whichcurrently stands at a 0 balance and medicare medicaid that will get so expensive our generation will see taxes like its never seen, let along this idea of free healthcare, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FREE, everyone will pay...they can say tax the rich but we all know better... and even if they do who do you think it will cost in the long run if the people who make the jobs are getting taxed more...without legislation dicating that jobs stay here in america and that americans will have more options than wal mart or mcdonalds to choose from for employers would be a good start but that will be a drag on the free market capitlaist society we have... we are a nation of debtors in a nation built on debt that our nation has no plan on how to pay back...

Wow very well put. Iwould say ignorance is the bigest problem in america. But i dont think we are quite at the decline stage yet, we may be getting there for various reasons ignorance and apathy being at the head. But the capitalist system is very addaptable, much more then any other system we have seen before. And as long as we manage to keep a balance in the political and economic fields we sould be fine for some time.
