This is down to the individual to decide what they are prepared to do for their art.

The one problem is hat when the event stops, life begins. Some actors forget this, or chose to ignore it. I know of a few octegenarian voice over artists and BBC radio actors living in their flats reliving past performances rather then face the realities of the world outside.

The must be a point by which the actor decides to 'live' again. This is normally when the curtain comes down and the audience leave the theatre.
