skeptic44, yeah, America is very slow on progressing, unfortuanatly.,
There are a lot of things wrong with America and its shameful.

its not like george bush makes america look like a better place. it reallly just shows that we know how to elect idiots. [no offence to anyone who voted for him or is a republican. i'm just saying he has a lot to do if he wants america to be a good place for people to live in]

Roakes, you make a very good point.,
We need to change things in America.

I'd move to Cananda, but i wouldn't leave everything and everyone here in America. I think that if we work hard enough, we can try to fix a few things.

It will happen eventually, america is progressing just not as fast as the rest of the developed world.

America is big on alot of things that restrict individual rights though. Illegalizing drugs, illegalizing abortion, seatbelt laws, the list goes on and on.

I don%u2019t see it happening.

Far from being the land of the free (or the brave), America is the land of people who are largely incapable of conceding anything that they regard as impinging on their individual rights. When it comes to money, its all about me. Americans, collectively, are unwilling to pay for universal health cover.

I applaud the idea that we should take money away from the very rich to fund universal health cover, but do you really think that is ever going to happen?

My advice is to move to Canada.

It is ridiculous.
Our president should do more to help those millions of uninsured people.

Universal helthcare is a great idea, there is plenty of millionares/billionares to tax to make this happen. It is simplly absurd that in the richest nation in the world people have to die or live in pain because they cant afford to get care. While the insurance companies ar making billions without providing any real good or service, it is basically a vacume that sucks money from the system and inflats the price of healthcare

i wish the US had free universal healthcare. I'd take a stand, but im not old enough.

That's what you get for turning healthcare into a business.
In my country (Australia) we had free universal health care in the 1970's bought in by a forward thinking left wing Government.. ever since it's been unravelled by a succession of centrist or right wing governments, but it's still very inclusive and health care is available to all at some level.
We are trying to avoid going competely down the business model path as the US has, but it's not easy given the power of the Pharmacuetical companies and their pull as a lobby group.
