Also, development in human/machine interfaces will allow us to augment our senses, capabilities, and intelligence. This is the first time in the long history of life that any organism has been able to directly guide its own evolution. With this scale of biological control, it may not be long before we see individuals and groups greatly deviating from the human species as we know it.

Considering this, how will emerging technologies alter the way we define being human? Will modified humans diverge into what would be considered new species?
