: Julia, you have some interesting thoughts. One sure-fire way that China's rise is our downfall is if the global community does not insist that China clean up its act environmentally. There is an article in September's Foreign Affairs on just this issue. China, at the moment, is catching up to the West very quickly and in so doing, it is wreaking environmental havoc.
