: contrary to what some people may think, wisdom is not the ability to throw out random facts. To me it's an understanding of how the world works, and the ability to articulate that understanding. what do you think?

I am tired of the crap! I haven't been to this site for months and people haven't thought of anything new to say. The site is called "Big Think" you people should try doing that.

First off all I don't care what you think the true definitions of "atheism" "agnostic" are. There is no concrete definition because they aren't organized religions. I don't care about "weak atheism" or "strong atheism" or any theism you heard someone talking about. My point is: why would you insist that there is no God? It's just stupid, you have no way to prove it, just like how can't prove that God (or gods- don't go down that bs route) is real.

Finally, every time I look at this page someone is saying, "the burden of proof is on theists"- MASSIVE COP OUT! Say something original or quit wasting space- we've heard it already

: While watching msnbc I hear Barack Obama speak about the injustices of the Jena six. I was disgusted when I heard that some dumb white kids threatened their peers with nooses, along with some of the other things surrounding the issue. However, when I think about the people who thousands stood up for, the six students who beat up some dumb kid, and put him in the hospital, the only emotions that remain are sadness and disgrace. I am disgraced that I live in a nation that would march for six kids who put another in the hospital. Sad when I think about what civil rights used to be, and what is has become.

Why doesn't photography get the credit it deserves?

Photography has been pioneered in the last century, why aren't names like ansel adams coming up? Why don't people think photography when they think about art?

: People wonder if there is infinite knowledge, however in order to understand wether knowledge is infinite, one must first understand what knowledge is. Often people think of knowledge as though it is synonymous with truth. However knowledge is what is popular perception the truth. truth doesn't change, knowledge does. You can look up at the sky and think that the sun revolves around the earth. However currently that is not supported by popular belief. Because knowledge is ever-changing with along with one's perception, it theoretically is infinite.

: Science in not way tries to explain anything other than physical actions. It may disprove certain parts of certain religions (evolution would be a good example), but it cannot and does not try to give answers to the core questions of religion. Why are we here? How are we here? (big bang is incomplete, and probably as far as science will get). and if there are answers to the first two, what is our purpose? People who dislike religion just like to use it as a part of their arguments against it.

: Reason can give explanations, but it is not always based on a factual foundation. people like to joke about the response of the church to heliocentrism, but the position of the church was based on the reasoning of the time. People seek truth through reason, but the reasoning can only lead to truth if it builds upon a foundation of truth itself, which is somewhat paradoxical.
