Same here, I've just come across an Idea that wasn't even dated, nor had a transcript. Worse, I recognized it immediately as a feature idea that is many months old, but had been repackaged as new.

Since this idea involves a prominent political figure, I have to wonder why the film was repackaged, non-dated and removed from its existing list of comments.

Does Big Think have an open API? It's tough to create Big Think-based widgets, blogging plugins or custom players without one.

Uh yeah!!! How about having this site function like others. With all the convienences? Is that the right spelling? Do you know if I'm just playing with you or if I'm really mad? Duh? I'm just playing but it would be nice to have "all" the conveniences. If you want people to come here very often you have to make them want to. We're all busy people, ya know! How much fun is a website that's a pain in the arse to navigate and use. Come on Big Thinkers! What good is an impotent thought! Smile:)

I find it really hard to know what is recent and what isn't. I mean obviously I can look at dates, but in terms of ideas, I'd really like to be able to see them in a somewhat chronological order. Same with comments and responses. But mostly ideas. I keep seeing the Idea number go up, but I don't know what Idea that was.

"When responding to an idea, it's sometimes hard to know whether you're responding to the ORIGINAL idea, or a response to the original.
It would be helpful if the idea I'm responding to (or its description) is shown to me on the page where I write my description of my idea."

I find it very confusing, really. What is the difference between a comment and a response?

user "tngldwbstr" also had it right with the spell check and the ability to edit already posted materials.

Right now, I think you need to focus more on the organization of the site. I don't really feel like I can browse. I feel like it's more like a commercial where you see twenty different images in 3 seconds and they expect you to know EXACLTY what just happened. Just a better flow would be nice. I'm not sure how exactly or I would say so.

If you login, you should be able to see all the ideas you have uploaded by clicking on your profile icon. If you are having trouble doing this, or if your ideas are not showing up, please let us know. As for comments, for now, there is no way to track them. We have taken note of this and will be addressing this issue as we undergo renovation to the site. Thanks for the feedback!

We are still only a few months old and still in beta so we will be incorporating user comments like yours as we refine our design. Please continue to send in comments regarding your experience of the site.

I've been trying to do the same thing. It's impossible, after a while, to remember all the Ideas you've visited and the comments/responses you've made. At some point you want to go back to them to see how many people agreed/disagreed or provided constructive criticism. The Recent Activity feature only lists Ideas that we've posted, not comments or responses. Please identify how we do this or add this feature. Thanks.

I think Big Think should post Obama's speech about race for discussion. Obama did not put his campaign info on the podium during the speech, and clearly intended the speech to be a primer for discussion of the great issues of race, inequality, and division in America. There are so many issues and ideas that need to be discussed in response to his speech - let's have that discussion on Big Think!

There should be some way to keep people from posting the same question over and over again. I've seen multiple "Does God exist?" and "What is love?" posts, maybe when people type a title for their idea, it could bring up a list of similar titles and say "Do you mean this?" If the conversation they want to start is already happening, they can join in. That way, people would get more feedback for an original idea because it wouldn't be copied constantly.
