Big Think wants to think outside the box when it comes to the issues we cover and how we structure the site. The breakdown of the site into "Meta" and "Physical" is an effort to do just that. That said, we may be missing some important categories that could help expand the conversation. So, if you've got a great idea for a new category, post it here and we may just add it to our roster.

This is a copy of an email I sent to Peter a day or two back...

"It may not quite be appropriate, but there is another category you may want to add, a bit tongue-in-cheek. Many years back, a young mate of mine started a web-site for "Useless Ideas". My contribution was the Shaver-Phone, based on the prediction that a multitude of future inventions would merely be combinations of existing products and technologies. He did not develop this concept to its full potential and no longer has the site. Just a thought - you don't want BigThink to become too dry and humourless."

Where should we put items relating to the paranormal?

I think there should be a section for any topics dealing with equality, and what it entails...affirmative action and equality in the workplace are just a few subsections...Many of the topics ive seen so far are pretty controvertial, but i think equality would be a sort of trump card so to speak...just an idea
