I believe this is true. I know that the big bang theory was proposed relatively early on in the history of cosmology, and therefore in a more ignorant, or shall I say 'less enlightened' time. The same people who said that the Earth was flat are probably the same people who said that the big bang didn't happen; however, the big bang theory is still simply a theory, and until it's proven true those who say God created the universe are still more accurate. We know so little about the universe that anything is possible at this point.
