The word "I" is one of the shortest words in the English language; however, it carries the most meaning of all of our words. Think of the meaning behind it. It can be used to simply refer to oneself, sure, but it can also mean your TRUE self, the full compilation of all of the factors that make you up as a person.

The complexity of the word "I" suggests it is the MOST important word in our culture, and possibly all humans in existence. Do we ever really use it as a personal pronoun only?  Some examples: "I think," "I can," "I will."

"I think": This conveys the fact that "I" has conceived of something; that is, something new has been incorporated into "I."

"I can": This says that "I" has the ability to do something; in other words, it is a possibility that some action can be incorporated into "I."

"I will": When a person says this, what it means is that the subject action has already been incorporated into "I," and will come into fruition at a future time.

All personal pronouns referring to other people are really referring to the "I" as it pertains to the subject.

Don't you love "I"? I sure do. (

Re: The Importance of the word

First, it should have nothing to do with the "english" language. That in itself is a limitation. "I" is where an individual comes from. The best of humanity has not been about "I" it has been self-sacrificing and about what is beyond the incredible limitation of "I."

Exactly because so many are limited by believing "I" is most important as opposed to striving to grow beyond and becoming more and more synergistic with our universe or existence in totality. We see what is rationalized as the "ME" generation rearing it's ugly-head now and then, and yet the "best" of those age 7 - 36 prove that is it is much more than having to do with "I."

If early humans had only been about "I," well...there wouldn't be very many of us around now.

Re: The Importance of the word
The word I is important but it's goal is to seperate and be slightly paranoid - even fearful. While we is just as important and it's goal is unity and is more confidenent. Not saying you couldn't be confident it just would be you being confident and not everyone else....

In the end it's just an opinion.
