Where I think humanity is headed

Honestly, it didn't look good to me... at first. See I envision some form of catastrophic natural/nuclear/terrorist event. People will die left and right and there will be chaos. HOWEVER amidst this chaos, those cunning enough to survive will do so with a few lessons. Civilization will be rebuilt but with real morals and a sense of responsability for earth and our actions. We will work together to live. By we I don't mean this generation, maybe not the next. But humanity will, inevitably, be taught a few things about life and survivability.

 Elaborate if you will or shed some optimism on my idea:D
