Re: Diversity in Higher Education: How important is it?

Uploaded on 01/10/2008
The six year period I spent at university was probably the most enjoyable time in my life. Naturally; I was young and everything was new and interesting. Studied lots of diverse subjects, but the bottom-line was that I learned to learn. A quarter century after a nuclear-physics major, I don't have a single explosion or even a split atom to my credit. Hence, the actual content of my training would appear to be inconsequential. Increasingly today there are alternative means to learn to learn. Many students will still require a formalized and structured entry to this learning process. For the others, there is the Internet.
