Re: Could genomics be a fountain of youth?

Uploaded on 03/27/2008

Genomics and related studies will eventually lead to the understanding of aging and likely to the ability to slow or stop that process.  This generally desireable albeit disruptive technology may be expected to require a major and lengthy social adaptation.  Such a change seems no more difficult than many in our past, such as the transition from hunter/gather to settlements, literacy, civilaization, the technological revolution, etc.  Once the life-extending technology is introduced, normal socio-economic activities will incorporate it.
