Is there room for "smart" content on the internet?

One question posed by the folks at Techcrunch in their write-up on us is “whether we even need a niche content site for “smart” videos? For the love of my rent, I hope the answer is yes. While statistics indicate that most of us are still watching cats chasing their tails or naked folks um, chasing tail, I think there is plenty of room for so-called “niche” content sites. You-tube serves as a great dumping ground for our collective Id, but I think that there is room for elevated conversation. More important, what do you think? Is there room for “smart” content on the internet?
