With Jaques Chirac gone and Nicolas Sarkozy now the Predident of France, would his somewhat pro-American stance when it comes to foreign policy and global defence alienate France from the rest of Frances European allies? Would placing his faith in the quality of the US leadership hinder or limit his ability to exercise regionalistic diplomacy and focus more on building alliances or economic and defence agreements within Europe?
