Bill George is a professor of Management Practice at Harvard Business School and former Chairman and Chief Executive officer of Medtronic. In his book True North: Discover your Authentic Leadership, co-written with Peter Sims, George draws on a series of interviews with 125 top managers in exploring the concept of leadership. George serves on the boards of Exxon Mobil Corporation, Goldman Sachs and Novartis AG. He is also a trustee of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and World Economic Forum USA. He was educated at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Harvard University, and was named one of the "Twenty-five Best Business Leaders of the Last 25 Years" by PBS in 2004.
