41 year-old instructional designer. Married, one cat. Former bass player in a touring/recording band. Gave up poverty. Now I reside the "greater NYC metro area" (e.g., New Jersey... who knew?). Am disheartened by how stupid the general populace of the US seems to be--sometimes including myself.

This is so utterly true it's distressing. Mostly because "keeping working" is harder than it sounds. I've noticed that creative output is almost entirely proportional to creative, or attempted creative, input. I think that whole "The Artists Way" is based on this.
