I am an independent writer, which is what I always wanted to be.
Most of my work is now for business schools, though I consider myself more of a journalist than a business writer. There is nothing more stimulating to me than to go to a place, meet people who are doing things, and get them to explain to me how they do it - as a story. So far, my search for stories has taken me to China, Japan, India, Indonesia, Europe, South Africa, and the US.
My family is the most important thing in my life. I have been married nearly 20 years, for the most part happily, and have a girl (12) and boy (8). We have just bought an 18C farmhouse on Lac Annecy, nestled in the Alps.
My hobby is to write reviews for Amazon, as a kind of record of what I have been into.
Though an ex-pat, I am deeply concerned with the direction that the US is taking. I absolutely despise the current administration as the worst in living memory, if perhaps ever in US history. The only administration that I think might be worse is that of Andrew Johnson, which mismanaged Reconstruction, creating more than a century of problems that are still to be fully resolved.
