Born in Cleveland, Ohio; first moved to Canada alone in 1986, became landed immigrant in 1994 and dual citizen in 1998. Have lived in Toronto for more than a decade. Spent much of my life in radio, then worked in the production of audio description of visual media for the vision-impaired. Now freelance doing the same, as well as voicework and radio format consulting. Producer of two podcasts: "Description: Valerie In Toronto" and "Movies For the Blind".
