Re: Re: Why do we go to school?

We go to school to elevate our level of awareness. In school we are able to grow and learn in a way that would otherwise not be possible. Yes, education starts in the home and then expands to the community, school, and government. All of these entities play a part of the education we receive as well as the education of future generations. Education has to start at the beginning. Federal funding for head start is essential. As far as school is concerned, head start is the foundation of the education. It is impossible for people to succeed if they do not have the proper foundation. The reason the drop out rate in America is so high among African Americans, Latinos, and poor Caucasions is because federal and state funding has failed so many of the school districts dominated by these groups of people. We must continue to go to school so we can elevate the masses of people who are not granted with the opportunity to receive an education.
